Debut Solo E.P 'Echoes'

Nicola has started on her first solo venture, with the support of The EFDSS Creative Seed Funding. This has resulted in her debut E.P, ‘Echoes’, which saw a successful launch at the Cecil Sharp House & a very well received summer of festivals. Her new band line up of 5 highly skilled musicians, including a brass trio & guitarist Andy Watson.

Combing her love of research into traditional music, & her upbringing in the brass band world, Nicola’s latest project features her own newly written work, looking at dance tunes influenced by other traditional instrumental English music forms. Expect newly written dance tunes, and some old favourites & some unexpected cross-overs as we examine the past of our folk & non-folk traditional music.

The Rosie Hood Trio

Nicola also performs with the very talented Rosie Hood as part of the Rosie Hood Trio, which includes the wonderful Lucy Huzzard on melodeon. Nicola toured with Rosie as part of her first full-length solo album release, 'The Beautiful & The Actual', a collection of old and new folk songs. The trio have released new material, looking at strong female role models missing from traditional songs, which have been widely met with great acclaim.

The music really sparkles and glows, while also inviting a certain amount of judicious foot-tapping along the way.'

Alex Cumming and Nicola Beazley

Alex Cumming (The Teacups) & Nicola Beazley are a Transatlantic Box & Fiddle duo performing both songs and tunes from around England. The last couple of years has seen Alex & Nicola build up a great reputation performing at some top venues and festivals including Towersey Village Festival, Whitby Folk Week, Sidmouth Folk Week, Bromyard Folk Festival, Sage Gateshead and more. The release of Alex and Nicola’s much anticipated debut album ‘Across The Water’ on Haystack Records was accompanied by launch tours in the UK, USA and Canada, with their second album currently in mixing stages of production.

With Alex's rhythmic, danceable accordion style & strong voice and Nicola's stunning and gutsy fiddle playing, the duo create a big sound and give a new voice to the wonderful canon of English Folk Music.
